I grew up in St. Louis, MO, primarily raised by a single mother who kept us in church every Sunday. I attended performing arts public schools all of my life, starting with Ames Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) elementary school. Went on to Carr Lane VPA middle school and Central VPA high school. At those schools, I performed in musicals and trained in dance, vocal, and acting every year. I also attended The Center of Creative Arts (COCA) since the third grade, where I participated in musicals and took vocal and dance classes. I was even a Muny kid in 2007!

My strongest connection has always been with Central VPA (CVPA) and COCA. At CVPA, I found myself. I was the student body president and had perfect attendance all four years. I emceed talent shows, performed at every event, brought energy to the morning announcements, and won homecoming court so many times that I eventually couldn’t run anymore—so I won Prom King instead. CVPA is a legacy in my family because everyone in my immediate family has attended.

I eventually started performing professionally thanks to The St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre Company. They cast me in a multitude of shows, which introduced me to other theatre companies in the city. All of those years of training and experience eventually led to a career in teaching. I taught different styles of dance at COCA, CVPA, Sumner High School, New Era Dance Academy, and Best Dance Talent Center. Teaching then opened up the world of choreography, where I had the opportunity to work with directors and visionaries to create art.

I spent five years emceeing with Utopia Experience. I’ve done all types of events—from weddings and mitzvahs to gala receptions and turkey trots. From warming up runners to dancing sets of lead and follow in front of hundreds of people, I would do backflips in the middle of the crowd, bust out the tap shoes, and sing to add my own flair. Working in St. Louis allowed me to connect with some of the most amazing people that I'm now lucky enough to call friends.

In 2023, I decided to move to New York to pursue my dreams, and it was both exciting and overwhelming. During that transition, my community remained a beacon of support and encouragement. After 10 months of auditions and working to survive in NYC, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations was the breakthrough that everyone had been anticipating.
Having the opportunity to learn from the Tony Award-winning duo, Sergio Trujillo and Des McAnuff, was an extraordinary experience. Our tour director, Brian Harlan Brooks, also shared invaluable nuggets of wisdom that I will carry throughout the rest of my career.
As an added bonus, I would be heading back to my hometown and performing on the Fabulous Fox stage.
This was a full-circle moment!
